Emporia City Commissioners are set to close out their 2021 meeting schedule with back-to-back sessions Wednesday morning.
Commissioners will first convene for a study session at 10 am where they will resume conversations on a potential rate increase for city wastewater fees. The conversations began back on Dec. 8 when City Treasurer Janet Harouff recommended needed increases in both the water and wastewater fund due to loan repayments beginning and increasing in the coming year.
Separately, commissioners will discuss establishing a stormwater utility fee, a partnership with Emporia State University and increases in golf rates.
A review of the 2022 legislative statement is also on the agenda. The meeting begins at 10 am inside the Municipal Courtroom.
Following the study session, commissioners will resume their adjourned action meeting from last week. The only items on that agenda are the potential approval of new wastewater fees and golf rate increases.
That meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am.
