Two hearings of note are on the docket in Lyon County District Court before the New Year’s Eve break.
Jordan Dorsey has a pretrial hearing on rape and other counts at 8:30 am Monday. Dorsey faces three counts of rape as well as single counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping, aggravated battery, theft, criminal threat and criminal trespass after an alleged incident in Emporia on June 15.
On Tuesday, Jamison Durkee will be sentenced for allegedly leading a high-speed chase through Lyon and Chase counties on July 10. Durkee was originally charged with felony flee and elude, obstruction and a host of traffic counts after allegedly going through both counties at speeds above 100 mph before he ditched his vehicle near the Kansas Turnpike’s Matfield Green service exit, forcing authorities to change from a vehicle pursuit to a foot search. He accepted a plea agreement on one felony flee and elude count last month. Sentencing is at 1:30 pm.
