Dynamic Discs has announced one of the two players that are coming to the company as part of major contracts.
Dynamic says Kona Panis is coming to the company after time with Innova.
Dynamic Discs President Doug Bjerkaas isn’t giving specifics about Panis’ contract or one for a male player to be announced Tuesday, but he says it’s a significant step for Dynamic and the sport as a whole.
UltiWorld Disc Golf says the contract is for $500,000 over four years.
Panis won the Waco Annual Charity Open and the Disc Golf Pro Tour All-Star event last year.
Dynamic Discs has had a flurry of other signings over the past month:
*Mason Ford comes to Dynamic Discs after playing for Innova and winning the 2021 Music City Open and an 11th-place finish in the Pro Disc Golf Association World Championships last year. Ford receives a two-year deal.
*Also receiving a two-year deal is Valerie Mandujano, who spent five years with Innova, including her first full year on the tour last year, before coming to Dynamic Discs.
*Earlier, Dynamic signed Gavin Rathbun and Matt Orum. Rathbun had been signed to Discmania and had three Top-10 finishes last year. Orum, most recently with Prodigy Discs, will go to Westside Discs — a company co-owned by Dynamic and Latitude 64 — and will join the tour full-time for the first time this upcoming season.
Panis and the player to be announced Tuesday will appear as part of a special news conference at noon Tuesday at the company headquarters, 840 Overlander Road. Residents can watch the news conference online at the Dynamic Discs YouTube channel.
