Lyon County Public Health tallied 209 new cases of coronavirus just since Wednesday.
Friday’s report means Lyon County has now added 471 cases since New Year’s Eve as the statewide and nationwide surge is felt locally. The overall pandemic total is now at 7,171.
The number of active cases went from 344, the county’s highest number since early December 2020, to 481 — the county’s highest number since 479 active cases Nov. 26, 2020.
Deaths remained steady at 98. Active hospitalizations, however, increased from four to eight.
