Planning matters will highlight the Emporia City Commission’s study meeting this week.
Commissioners are meeting Wednesday, and they have a commercial rehab project, housing, street rehab and overall strategic planning on the agenda for their study meeting:
*T3LB LLC has requested city partnership on a Community Development Block Grant to rehab a former dry cleaning building at 17 West Fourth.
*Commissioners will discuss what’s called a Housing Opportunity Overlay district involving almost 17 acres at South Exchange and Soden’s Road.
*The 2022 Street Rehab list will be discussed, including over 10 projects scattered across town.
*Proposed parking lot and alley improvements in the 600 and 700 blocks of Mechanic will see discussion.
City commissioners will also have a discussion on strategic planning, notably the overall process.
The meeting is at 11 am Wednesday at the Municipal Court Room.
