A combination of snowflakes and light drizzle has made for wet driving conditions Friday night.
One to three inches of wind-driven snow is expected through the late morning hours Saturday. Slick driving conditions are expected, especially on elevated surfaces and at intersections, as temperatures dip to around 20 degrees overnight.
High temperatures will only reach the upper 20s Saturday afternoon. Blowing snow will be an issue through the day, even with snow set to end before noon, as northerly winds gust as high as 45 mph.
Winter weather advisory timetables have been adjusted in most area cases. Lyon, Coffey, Osage and Wabaunsee counties entered an advisory at 10 pm as originally scheduled, but the advisory now ends at noon instead of 6 pm. Chase County’s advisory, which started at 6 pm, now ends at noon instead of 6 pm. Morris County’s advisory also ends at noon instead of 6 pm. Greenwood County’s advisory still ends at 6 pm.
