The Emporia High girls basketball team extended their winning streak to 5 in a row with a 58-20 victory over Highland Park Tuesday night. The Lady Spartans jumped out to a 19-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and rolled from there. The Emporia High girls had not played or practiced in a week and Coach Carolyn Dorsey said that showed up.
Gracie Gilpin led the offense with a career-high 29 points. Rebecca Snyder added 10 points.
The Emporia High girls are now 7-2 for the season and are scheduled to host Washburn Rural Friday night.
