An incident near the Greenwood-Wilson county line sent one person to Fredonia for medical treatment Saturday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the incident at 659 HH Road happened shortly before 2 pm and took place while two people, both out of Fredonia, were unloading cattle. The driver, 86-year-old Thelbert Trimmel, apparently got too close to a panel, so he stopped his pickup and then got out of the truck — as did his passenger, 86-year-old Marilyn Trimmel. Thelbert Trimmel apparently didn’t realize Marilyn Trimmel was out of the truck, which hit Marilyn Trimmel.
Thelbert Trimmel was not hurt, but Marilyn Trimmel was taken to Fredonia Regional Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Additional details are currently pending.
