Formal plans have been announced to celebrate Kent Heermann’s career as president of the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas — and to wish him well as he officially retires.
A special reception is from 2-4 pm Friday at the Trusler Business Center, 719 Commercial. The public is encouraged to attend.
Heermann came to Emporia from Nebraska in February 1994 at the RDA’s inception and has been the agency’s only leader until recently. Hermann announced his retirement last summer. Chuck Scott, previously the director of Dickinson County’s Economic Development Corporation, officially began as the RDA’s president earlier this month.
