At least two changes are coming behind the scenes for the Emporia Community Foundation’s Match Day, as announced on KVOE’s Morning Show on Wednesday.
Community Foundation Executive Director Becky Nurnberg says recent adjustments followed the Match Day Committee’s decision last year to extend the event through 2026.
In addition, Match Day participants will need to have a fund with the Community Foundation. There will be a committee meeting Feb. 14 to finalize the Match Day parameters and the number of organizations taking part.
Match Day will be held Nov. 14. Last year’s event set an all-time fundraising record with over $455,000 generated for 25 community groups areawide. Since it began eight years ago, Match Day has amassed almost $1.9 million to benefit nonprofits across Lyon and surrounding counties.
