Wednesday’s COVID-19 caseload number from Lyon County Public Health was almost identical to the one from Monday.
Public Health announced 187 new cases Wednesday after 188 new cases Monday. This pushes the county total to 9,298 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
Another patient died since Monday. The county’s official death toll is now 105.
Lyon County has moved up to fifth overall in the state’s County COVID Rankings, based on an 11th-place ranking in vaccination rate at 59 percent, 41st-place rank in cases per 100,000 residents at 84 and 34th-place rank in tests per 100,000 at 939. Greenwood County is now fourth overall and Morris County is sixth. Areawide, Chase County ranks lowest at 75th statewide.
