Emporia Police are searching for a vehicle and its driver after a pair of alleged pursuits early Thursday.
Officer Dominick Vortherms says officers began the process of a traffic stop at 24th and Industrial after noticing traffic infractions with an SUV. The driver took off east on 24th and then went south on Prairie, going out of town at a high rate of speed.
Officers broke off the chase and resumed it when the SUV came back north on Prairie, pursuing the vehicle from South and Prairie to the Interstate 35 junction with East Sixth Avenue, at which time the chase ended.
Officers are looking for a white GMC Yukon. No other information about the vehicle is currently available and a suspect description is pending. If you have information about this incident, call Emporia Police at 620-343-4200.
