A move under discussion for around a month becomes reality next week.
Starting Monday, Lyon County Public Health begins transferring its COVID-19 disease investigation processes to the state, although the changeover won’t be immediate. This reflects county-state coordination on a “steady-state” response effort, meaning continued work on COVID while re-emphasizing more normal operations. It also reflects the crush of new cases for much of January.
On KVOE’s Morning Show on Thursday, Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern said KDHE is prioritizing cases for residents under age 18 and at or above age 65.
People with questions about COVID diagnoses, requests for isolation letters or updates on case investigations can call 785-542-6625 or email KDHE.Covidinvestigation@ks.gov.
