The Emporia High girls basketball team advanced to the Championship Semi-finals of the Glaciers Edge tournament with a 53-31 win over Wichita South Thursday night.
Coach Carolyn Dorsey called it a good start to the tournament.
Gracie Gilpin led the Lady Spartans to the win scoring 24 points, making 6 three-point shots.
Rebecca Snyder added 18 points and 10 rebounds for her 3rd double-double of the season.
The Emporia High girls will play Life Prep tonight at 7:45p.
Life Prep outscored Goddard Eisenhower 44-24.
In the other first-round games:
Wichita Southeast defeated Shawnee Heights 44-38.
Great Bend outscored number 1 seed Hutchinson 56-53.
Friday’s games begin at 3:15 with Shawnee Heights playing Hutchinson.
Followed by Wichita South playing Goddard Eisenhower.
In the 6:15 game, Wichita Southeast plays Great Bend.
