The Emporia State baseball team has been selected 7th in the MIAA coaches preseason poll.
Central Missouri the defending MIAA champion and national runner-up last year has been selected number 1 with 10 of 12 first-place votes.
Pittsburg State is number 2 with 1 first-place vote and Northeastern State is 3rd with 1 first-place vote.
The Emporia State baseball team returns seven players that started at least 16 games last season along with two starting pitchers and their second most used reliever.
They open their season next Friday when they play Northern State in Edmond, Oklahoma.
