Former Lyon County assistant prosecutor Vernon Buck suffered apparently serious injuries as part of a crash in northwest Lyon County on Friday.
Lyon County Deputy Jody Meyers says the crash happened in the 3300 block of Road F outside Bushong when the crash happened shortly before 3 pm. Buck, 69, was northbound on Road F and told investigators he fell asleep at the wheel. His car crossed the center line and went into a ditch where it hit a culvert tube.
Buck was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment.
Buck worked in the County Attorney’s Office from 2000-2014. He also had a private practice.
