Kansas US Senator Jerry Moran says he’s concerned about a recently-announced final rule for federal spending designed to expand broadband access to underserved or unserved areas of the country.
Moran and other Republicans on the Senate Commerce Committee say the rule “lacks the proper guidance and constraints needed to ensure that federal funds are used efficiently and for their intended purpose.” Click here to read the document.
Lyon County has been working to position itself for federal funds to expand broadband for close to a year. The county’s effort has been stalled since early last summer pending state review.
