An Osage City woman was taken to Newman Regional Health after an early morning accident on the Kansas Turnpike Wednesday.
Authorities responded to mile marker 148, a mile north of the Admire Council Grove exit, just after 7:30 am. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Destiny Staley of Osage City was northbound in a 2013 Ford Focus when she lost control due to snow on the roadways.
Staley spun into a barrier wall before stopping on the right shoulder of the highway. The vehicle was listed as “disabled” and had to be towed from the scene.
Staley was taken to Newman with what are being called possible injuries. Staley was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
