New COVID-19 caseload increases in Lyon County remained well below last month’s peak but were still elevated in Wednesday’s report.
Lyon County Public Health reported 116 new cases, which is a slight increase from Monday’s total of 111, but still significantly lower than the 200 to 300 plus new case totals announced throughout the start of the year. The overall total now stands at 9,646 since the start of the pandemic in March of 2020.
Thus far, 227 new cases have been reported between Monday and Wednesday after just under 500 cases were reported through the entirety of last week and a little more than 800 new cases were reported the week prior.
Deaths were flat for the third straight reporting period and remain at 105. The number of deaths awaiting final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment remain at five.
