The Emporia State softball team was 1-1 on the opening day of the season Saturday.
The Lady Hornets won their first game 4-1 over Ouachita Baptist. Roni Raines drove in 2 of the runs. Lexi Williams scored 3 of the runs.
Sydney Righi was the winning pitcher giving up 1 run on 2 hits.
In their 2nd game, Oklahoma Baptist scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th for a 7-6 win over the Lady Hornets. Emporia State built a 6-2 lead on a two-run home run by Lexi Williams. Alexis Dial drove in 3 runs with a double and triple.
3 of the 5 runs scored by Oklahoma Baptist in the 7th inning were unearned.
The Emporia State softball team is scheduled to play Henderson State and Arkansas Monticello Sunday.
