SOS is using a new fundraiser to launch into an existing one.
This week, SOS has debuted “Heroes for Hope,” which involves 20 invited women to raise funds for the agency.
The program resembles SOS Strong, which has involved 20 or more men per year from across the area to raise funds and take a pledge to lead by example, be positive upstanders, not engage in any violent acts and take other positive steps to better their communities.
Officially, Heroes for Hope begins Monday and continues through March 14. The participating women will be honored during Hope-A-Palooza on March 25 at the Bowyer Community Building, which will include a catered meal, community awards, live auction and an appearance by Savanna Chestnut and the Field Hands. Tickets are $50 a person, with tables for six running at $400. Less than 30 tickets are left.
The list of participating women is online at KVOE.com. For more information about Heroes for Hope or to donate, go online to www.soskansas.com/heroesforhope.
