An alleged shooting incident in Osage County led to the arrest of a Topeka man Sunday.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says a disturbance with shots being fired at an undisclosed location in Scranton was reported to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center just before 4:15 pm. Shortly after the report, a male subject arrived at a Topeka hospital with a gunshot wound.
An investigation followed and eventually led to the arrest of a suspect identified as 45-year-old Charles Meade of Topeka. Meade was taken to the Osage County Jail on suspicion of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Formal charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
