Almost a month away from the two-year mark of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lyon County has now surpassed 10,000 overall cases.
According to Lyon County Public Health’s latest data report Friday, the county’s overall total now sits at 10,006 cases since March of 2020. Public health reported 29 new cases Friday which puts the week’s overall total at 78 new cases.
This is the lowest total of 2022 thus far and the first weekly total to be under 100 new cases since the start of the year.
Deaths were unchanged at 109 with six cases still pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
