Match Day is Nov. 14, and the Emporia Community Foundation has officially opened the door for participating groups and organizations to apply to be involved.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Monday, Community Foundation Executive Director Becky Nurnberg noted a handful of changes to the application process versus past years. The groups’ operating budgets have climbed from a $150,000 maximum to $175,000. Also, the participating groups need to have a fund established with the Community Foundation, although it does not need to be endowed. And Nurnberg says there could be a change in the number of participating groups.
The application deadline is March 25, with an announcement by the Match Day Committee expected the week of May 2. Match Day is set for Nov. 14, with an online option and an in-person office at the Community Foundation office, 527 Commercial.
Over the past eight years, Match Day has generated $1.9 million for nearly 40 non-profits in Lyon and surrounding counties, including over $455,000 last year.
