Flint Hills Community Health Center will have a new name and a new image come March.
During a strategic planning update during the FHCHC Board of Directors meeting Tuesday afternoon, CEO Renee Hively announced the health center will unveil its new name and imagery as part of its rebranding effort on Tuesday, Mar. 1. The FHCHC Board approved the new name back in November with Hively gaining approval to begin the official name change process last month.
Hively says the rebrand has been a time-consuming effort as changing the identity of an organization requires a significant amount of behind-the-scenes work.
The name change comes as the Health Center has been working the past several years to develop a new identity that better distinguishes itself from similar health care facilities in the local region. FHCHC Marketing Director Justin Ogleby will join KVOE’s Morning show at 8:20 am Tuesday to discuss the name change in more depth.
In other business, the board approved applications for numerous health-related state grants for the 2023 fiscal year. According to Hively, the applications are due by Mar. 11.
A total of eleven applications are being submitted for approval through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. With the board’s approval Tuesday, Chief Financial Officer Seresa Howe was also granted approval to re-budget as needed if the Health Center receives higher or lower sums of funding than in previous years.
Speaking of finances, the monthly financial report for the month of January noted a net gain of just over $27,000 for the Health Center which was more favorable than a budgeted gain of $26,000 by roughly $1,400. Net revenues came in at $78,000 which was four percent less favorable than original budget estimates.
The FHCHC Board of Directors will reconvene for its monthly meeting at noon on Tuesday, Mar. 22.
