Xerach Tungjareoenkul is the 2022 5A 145 lbs state wrestling champion.
Tungjareoenkul won his final match 3-1 defeating Gabe Maki of Andover. In addition to securing a state championship, Tungjareoenkul also clinched his 100th career victory with the win.
Head Coach Brook Medrano says the future is bright for Emporia wrestling.
Emporia took seven wrestlers to the state tournament. Lukas Hainline at 126 lbs and Bobby Trujillo at 195 lbs went 2-2. Braxton Malone, 106 lbs, Jesse Ultreras, 170 lbs, and Davian White 182 lbs were 1-2. Josiah Bradley, 285 lbs, was 0-2.
