Northeastern State outscored the Emporia State baseball team 8-4 Monday afternoon completing a sweep of the 3 game series.
Northeastern scored a run in the 2nd and 2 runs in the 3rd to take a 3-0 lead.
Emporia States T. J Racherbaumer hit a solo home run in the 3rd inning.
Northeastern scored 3 runs in the 5th inning.
The Hornets added a run in the bottom of the 5th on a Brenden Tauber single.
They added 2 runs in the 6th on an error and T.J. Racherbaumer double to make it a 6-4 ball game.
Northeastern added single runs in the 7th and 8th innings.
Emporia State Coach Seth Wheeler said they lost to a good team.
The Emporia State baseball team falls to 5-9 for the season and 0-3 in the MIAA.
The Hornets return to action Tuesday with a single game at Washburn.
