An online account has been established to help offset funeral expenses for an Emporia man killed in a train-SUV collision last week.
John HF Burton was killed March 2 after his SUV was struck at the Market Street crossing. Residents can find the “Funeral and Other Expenses” option on GoFundMe. Click here for the link.
Close to $2,000 has already been raised towards the $7,000 goal. Funeral arrangements are pending.
Emporia Police have said Burton drove around crossing arms right before the crash. Family members have disputed that statement.
