One of Emporia’s springtime community hallmarks is back this weekend.
Saturday is the day for the 74th Kiwanis Club pancake breakfast. On KVOE’s Talk of Emporia this week, spokesperson Shari Scribner encouraged area residents to head to the Lyon County Fairgrounds, drive through and get their pancakes.
It’s the third straight year for the drive-through format at the Cloverleaf Diner. The breakfast from 7 am to 1 pm includes three pancakes, two bacon sausage links from Fanestil and milk. Gluten-free pancakes are available upon request.
Tickets are $6 for adults in advance and $7 at the door. Kids under age 3 eat free. Tickets can be purchased at Country Mart, the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce, Mark II Lumber, Sutherlands, Waters Hardware and Williams Automotive.
This is the biggest fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club, with proceeds benefiting the club’s service projects starting in October.
