The season came to an end for the Kansas women’s basketball team Sunday night in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. Number 1 seed Stanford defeated KU 91-65.
The Jayhawks kept it close for the first half, trailing 33-31 at halftime. Stanford would turn it on in the 2nd half outscoring the KU women 58-34.
Kansas coach Brandon Schneider was proud of his team’s effort.
The Kansas Women finish the season with a 21-10 record.
The Kansas State women play their 2nd round NCAA Tournament game Monday afternoon. The Lady Cats will play number 1 seed North Carolina State.
