Over an inch of rainfall over the past week has cleared the KVOE listening area from any vestige of drought.
The US Drought Monitor’s map Thursday shows no abnormally dry conditions across the area. Parts of extreme west Morris County and southeast Greenwood County are abnormally dry, but that’s an upgrade from the moderate drought in last week’s report.
The map follows anywhere from 2-2.5 inches of rain from Friday through late Tuesday night. The Kansas Water Office has not adjusted its maps yet after announcing a drought watch for most area counties and a drought warning for Morris County last Thursday.
