Morris County deputies have arrested a Council Grove person accused of leading authorities on a chase early this week.
Sheriff Jay Simecka says deputies tried to stop a vehicle near Council Grove Reservoir on Sunday night, but the driver, later identified as 36-year-old Charly Bowman, drove off and later abandoned the vehicle in a ditch. Bowman allegedly ran from the vehicle and wasn’t found until Wednesday after information from a third party.
Bowman was arrested on suspicion of flee and elude, interference with law enforcement, possession of meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.
Formal charges are pending. Council Grove Police and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks helped with the investigation.
