The Flint Hills Optimists are set to put a cap on the 2021-2022 basketball season with the annual All-Star Basketball Classic on Saturday.
The doubleheader begins with the girls game at 6 pm, with the boys game at 8 pm. Optimist Ken Hanson says club members enjoy getting the games organized every year.
Admission is $5, with all proceeds supporting Optimist projects for area youth.
Games follow college rules, meaning four 10-minute quarters for the girls and two 20-minute halves for the boys. The game also features “make-ti, take-it” rules for the last two minutes for each half, giving opportunities for the trailing teams to make up ground in a hurry.
Coverage begins shortly before 6 pm on Country 101.7 FM and KVOE.com.
