An Emporia Police investigation is ongoing after a motorcycle wreck in central Emporia on Friday night.
The wreck happened near Ninth and Oak shortly before 9 pm. Police Sgt. Dominick Vortherms says a man in his 20s was eastbound on Ninth when he crashed near the intersection at Oak. The driver laid the motorcycle down, and it skidded about half a block before stopping.
The currently-unnamed driver was not wearing a helmet and suffered potentially serious injuries as a result. He was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health and was later transferred to a currently-unspecified hospital.
