The KVOE listening area could have its first severe weather episode of the season Tuesday night.
The Storm Prediction Center has all area counties in a slight risk for severe weather. Storms could develop by late afternoon, although storm development may wait until after sunset; Storm coverage and severity may well be limited by a relatively stable atmosphere and what’s called a cap, where temperatures aloft actually rise with height instead of falling.
Currently, hail and wind are the main concerns areawide. Tornadoes are highly unlikely but can’t officially be ruled out.
