After playing their first 32 games away from Emporia the Emporia State softball team finally will play their home opener Friday when they host Northwest Missouri State in a doubleheader.
The Lady Hornets are 16-16 overall and 5-3 in MIAA play and have won their last 4 games.
Junior Pitcher Sydney Righi is 5 and 4 this season with a 2.50 era and hopes to keep the winning streak going.
The first pitch is set for 3 pm at the Trusler Sports Complex.
Saturday they host Missouri Western. The first game of the doubleheader will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
