Emporia High will be one of 17 schools competing at the ESU High School Relays Friday.
Junior Elizabeth Willhite, a state placer in the 1600 meter run last year, is looking forward to this years season.
Junior Fred Jackson was a state qualifier last year and is using that as a motivator.
Events begin at 3 pm at Welch Stadium on the Emporia State Campus.
