The David Taylor Zoo will be hosting more than just animals this Saturday.
The zoo has partnered with the Emporia Public Library to host a Croaky Pokey story walk to promote literacy and the month of the young child. Rhonda Beatty, Mobilizing Literacy coordinator, says the month of April is all about getting more books in the hands of young children.
The book walk will consist of 18 activity stations along with a few fact booths. Mobilizing literacy will also be providing every family with a book to take home with them.
Croaky Pokey will run from 10 am to Noon. For more information, visit Emporiazoo.org.
