Emporia State had more than just two-legged visitors this weekend.
Emporia State’s First Generation group hosted its inaugural Doggie Dash Fun Run 5K Saturday afternoon in front of Plumb Hall. First Generation members encouraged participants to bring along a four-legged friend but it was not required.
Layna Adams, President of First Generation says they hope to bring the event back for years to come.
Participants paid a registration fee of $25, with all proceeds going to help the 800 plus group organize events in the near future. Totals will be announced at a later time.
First-generation offers free assistance to first-generation college students including support, resources and fellowship. For more information on First Generation and future events, visit emporia.edu.
