Inductee number three in the 2022 National Teacher’s Hall of Fame class has been revealed.
Monday, Christopher Poulos, a career educator at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, CT, stepped into what he believed was an after-school faculty meeting. Instead, he was informed of his impending induction into the hall of fame later this June.
Poulos has spent the last 21 years teaching Spanish for 9th through 12th graders at Joel Barlow. Prior to being an educator, Poulos spent 27 months in Honduras as part of the Peace Corps in the late 1990s.
Barlow has been recognized on several occasions for his work in the classroom including being named the Connecticut Teacher of the Year in 2007. Poulos now joins Leila Kubesch (coo-BESCH) of Ohio and Sergio de Alba of California as members of the 2022 class.
The final two inductees will be announced in the coming days.
