Crosswinds Counseling and Wellness is continuing its work to relocate services to the former Chi Omega building in Emporia.
During an interview on KVOE’s Morning Show Thursday, Crosswinds CEO Amanda Cunningham says the progress is slow going at this time, but thankfully the agency has until 2024 to complete the move from its current facility at 1000 Lincoln. She says some “non-client facing staff” have already made the move over to the new facility at 1519 Merchant with plans for renovations to begin sometime after July.
Crosswinds announced back in January it is also working to secure a second facility that will dovetail with the use of the Chi Omega building, however, details on that facility are still pending.
While work to relocate to the Chi Omega building is still slow going at this time, Cunningham was pleased to announce Crosswinds has opened its new Hispanic Center at 310 Commercial. The facility is fully staffed with a case manager, clinician, peer support and customer service representatives all of whom are Spanish speaking.
The new center was made possible through a two-year $2.3 million federal grant. An open house for the new facility will be coming in the near future, however, an exact date has not been announced.
