Construction, education redesign, financial notes and personnel matters are part of a lengthy agenda for the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education on Wednesday.
Board members have several construction items ahead, including a general update on the nearly $80 million Building for the Future bond renovation process and a specific look at the guaranteed maximum price for work at Emporia Middle School.
On education redesign, administrators at Riverside Elementary will have an update, including focal points, highlights and next steps.
Several financial matters are up for discussion, including the purchase of school buses, a resolution to sell general obligation refunding bonds as a cost-saving measure and a one-year renewal of health insurance consulting services through Brown and Brown/Hays Companies.
The board may also accept the resignation of Emporia Middle School Principal Steven Bazan, who has led the school since July 2017. An executive session is slated to evaluate the performance of Superintendent Allison Anderson-Harder.
The meeting starts at 5:30 pm at Mary Herbert Education Center.
