USD 253 Emporia and Emporia Police spent some time investigating a written threat at Emporia Middle School last week.
The district’s Community Relations Department says the threat was written on a bathroom wall and was discovered Thursday afternoon. After investigating, the district said the comment “does not pose a threat to our school community.” Specifics about the threat and the school’s immediate response to it have not been divulged.
USD 253 says the safety and security of students and staff is its highest priority and it encourages everybody “if you see something, say something.” The district announced the situation Monday.
