The USD 253 Board of Education has announced a new leader for Emporia Middle School come fall 2022.
During the consent agenda portion of the board’s regular meeting Wednesday, Brad Jones was hired to fill the soon-to-be vacant Assistant Principal position left by Emily Baker who will be moving to Riverside to take over the principal position. Jones will be coming to Emporia from USD 341 Oskaloosa where he currently serves as the junior/senior high school principal.
Jones has a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in education administration from William Woods University. In a news release from the district Jones says, “Over the past 22 years I have worked as a coach, a teacher, and an administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a student advocate. My mission for this next year is to spend time getting to know the students, faculty,
staff, and parents of this great community.”
Jones will assume his new role effective Jul. 1.
