With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration both on board with COVID-19 secondary booster vaccinations, Lyon County Public Health has announced residents can schedule appointments to receive those shots. Vaccinations are also available for patients of Newman Regional Health Medical Partners.
The federal government has authorized secondary boosters for residents above age 50 or are immunocompromised if they are at least four months after their prior booster. The CDC is still recommending all eligible residents — ages 5 and up — get vaccinated and boosted if possible.
Current patients interested in getting secondary boosters through Newman Regional Health Medical Partners can call 620-343-2376 or go online to www.newmanrh.org/covid19 to schedule appointments.
