Emporia State tennis teams defeated by Washburn

Washburn defeated the Emporia State tennis teams in duels Saturday.
Washburn won the men’s duel 7-0. Emporia States Theo Belmonte and Sergio Vera won at number 1 doubles before Washburn won the number 2 and number 3 doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Washburn won all 6 singles matches but won number 1, 3, and 6 singles in split sets.
Washburn won the women’s duel 5-2. Washburn won the doubles point. Emporia States Karen Santiago-Sanchez won at number 2 singles 7-5,7-6. Victoria Mackova won at number 5 singles 6-4, 4-6, 1-0.
The Emporia State women’s and men’s tennis teams are scheduled to host McPherson on Monday.
