The Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has its monthly meeting Tuesday, and it has a lot of items to address.
Foremost on the agenda are two separate but connected items relating to Plumb Place at 224 East Sixth. Eli Fowler has requested a rezoning from R-3 High-Density Residential to C-3 General Commercial for apartments and storage. Those items will be considered separately after the Planning Commission tabled action last month once a second potential buyer, Jarrod and Clarine Hibler, stepped forward with plans to live in the house.
There are several other topics up for consideration. Board members will:
*Consider a rezoning request for 1611 Constitution changing from R-3 Residential to C-3 Commercial as well as a separate rezoning request to change 1104 Burns from R-1 Low-Density Residential to R-2 Medium-Density Residential
*Consider a conditional use permit for a child care center at a currently unspecified address
*Consider amending and updating the city’s Floodplain Management regulations
The meeting starts at 6 pm at the Municipal Court Room.
