The Emporia State baseball team outscored Missouri Western 6-3 Saturday. Centerfielder Blake Carroll had a big day at the plate going 3 for 3 with 2 R-B-I.
T.J Racherbaumer and Dylan Werries each drove in a run.
Noah Geekie was the winning pitcher going 4 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits. Jarrett Seaton pitched 3 scoreless innings and Braden Meek pitched 2 scoreless innings to earn the save.
The Hornets go for the series sweep Sunday afternoon.
With Saturday’s win, Emporia State moves into 8th place in the MIAA standings.
