The Emporia High softball team was swept by Topeka Seaman in a doubleheader Tuesday.
Seaman won the first game 4-2. Seaman scored single runs in the 1st and 3rd innings. Emporia High tied the game with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd, Elleana Bennett scored on a wild pitch and Shaylee Ginter scored on a groundout. Seaman answered with 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning to earn the win.
Seaman won the 2nd game 8-6. A 2 run home run by Caitlyn Meyers gave Emporia High a 6-4 lead. Seaman scored a run in the 6th and 3 runs in the 7th to steal the win.
Emporia High Coach Aaron Hammond was proud of the way his team battled.
The Lady Spartans play at Washburn Rural on Friday.
