A marginal severe weather risk for Thursday night and an enhanced risk Friday evening now has a wind advisory wedged in between for some area counties.
Chase and Greenwood counties are in a wind advisory from 1-7 pm Friday. Southerly wind gusts could be as high as 45 mph in the warned counties and up to 40 mph elsewhere across the listening area, including Lyon County.
The marginal risk for Thursday night originally was for areas just west of Emporia but now extends areawide. Hail up to the size of quarters is possible as the lead concern.
All area counties are under an enhanced risk Friday between mid-afternoon and midnight. Hail to the size of golf balls, winds up to 70 mph and tornadoes are possible.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the KVOE listening area to close out the work week.
Thursday evening has a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms essentially along and west of Kansas Highway 99. Quarter-sized hail and winds approaching 60 mph will be the main issues.
There is currently an enhanced risk of severe weather across the KVOE listening area and most of eastern Kansas for Friday late afternoon and evening. All hazards are possible.
